Our Story

In 1988, the Del Ben brothers launched their cheese aging and sales business in the farmhouse now used for the most refined productions. The combined input of Gioacchino’s cheesemaking expertise and Luciano’s commercial acumen laid solid foundations for the company’s rapid growth. From just a few dozen wheels aged in their father Modesto’s granary — who would later inspire the creation of a signature product — the business has grown to 30,000 wheels in a fully equipped warehouse.

Official Montasio PDO ager since 1993 (SPN002), Del Ben Formaggi has managed a production dairy for the same Friulian excellence since 2007, in partnership with the Caseificio di Cimpello, of which it became the official and exclusive Montasio PDO ager.

In 2012, the Del Ben family acquired the historic Latteria d’Aviano, in the Pordenone foothills, revitalising the prestige of a cooperative active since 1919. A path of growth, innovation and new expertise laid the groundwork for the company’s gradual expansion to cover the entire production chain.

Since 2012, Del Ben Formaggi has drawn fresh energy and ideas from the studies, enthusiasm and creativity of the new Del Ben generation: Alessio and Luca, Luciano’s sons, and Linda and Veronica, Gioacchino’s daughters, are all actively involved in the company in distinct, well-defined roles.
