The municipality of Mortegliano is the cradle of corn cultivation in Friuli, thanks to its unique environmental conditions—fresh, fertile soils, a favorable climate, the availability of irrigation water, and the expertise and experience of many passionate farmers. Some of them, members of the “La Blave di Mortean” cooperative, set out to cultivate high-quality corn. The result is a flour distinguished and appreciated for its excellent organoleptic qualities: aroma, color, flavor, and texture. The production method used, governed by the “Blave di Mortean” regulations, ensures balanced and unforced development of the plant, preservation of the grain, and a grinding process that enhances the characteristics of the final product.
